An Nasai(The Book of Jihad – 71)

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said “A man came to the Prophet (pbuh) while he was delivering a Khutbah from the Minbar, and he said: ‘If I fight in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, do you think that Allah will forgive my sins?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ Then he fell silent for a while. Then he said: ‘Where is the one who was asking just now?’ The man said: ‘Here I am.’ He said: ‘What did you say?’ He said: ‘What did you say?’ He said: ‘I said: I said: If I fight in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, do you think that Allah will forgive my sins?’ He said: ‘Yes, except for debt. Jibril told me that just now.'”

Ibn Majah(Zuhd – 184)

It was narrated from Hafsah that the Prophet (pbuh) said “I hope that no one of those who witnessed (the battle of) Badr and (Treaty) Hudaybiyah will enter Hell, if Allah wills.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, doesn’t Allah say “There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord, a decree which must be accomplished?” [19:71] He said: “Have you not heard that He says: ‘Then We shall save those who use to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the wrongdoers therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell)?'” [19:72]

An Nasai(The Book of Zakah – 9)

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said “When the Messenger of Allah died, and Abu Bakr became the Khalifah after him, and some of the ‘Arabs reverted to disbelief. ‘umar said to Abu Bakr: ‘How can you fight the people when the Messenger of Allah said: “I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy of worship but Allah). Whoever says La ilaha illah, his wealth and his life safe from me, unless he deserves a legal punishment justly, and his reckoning will be with Allah?”‘ Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, said: ‘I will fight anyone who separates prayer and Zakah; Zakah is the compulsory right to be taken from wealth. By Allah, if they withhold from me a rope that they used to give to the Messenger of Allah, I will fight them for wiholding it.’ ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: ‘By Allah, it was as if I saw that Allah has opened the heart of Abu Bakr for fighting, and I knew that I was the truth.”‘ (Sahih)

Riyad us Saliheen(The Book of the Prohibited actions – 1680)

Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) saying, “Every painter will go to Hell, and for every portrait he has made, there will be appointed one who will chastise him in the Hell.” Ibn ‘Abbas said: If you have to do it, draw pictures of trees and other inanimate things.[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Sahih Bukhari(Limits and Punishments set by Allah (Hudood) – 31)

Narrated Ubada bin As-Samit, I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (pbuh) with a group of people, and he said, “I take your pledge that you will not worship anything besides Allah, will not steal, will not commit infanticide, will not slander others by forging false statements and spreading it, and will not disobey me in anything good. And whoever among you fulfill all these (obligations of the pledge), his reward is with Allah. And whoever commits any of the above crimes and receives his legal punishment in this world, that will be his expiation and purification. But if Allah screens his sin, it will be up to Allah, Who will either punish or forgive him according to His wish.” Abu `Abdullah said: “If a thief repents after his hand has been cut off, the his witness well be accepted. Similarly, if any person upon whom any legal punishment has been inflicted, repents, his witness will be accepted.”
