Sahih Muslim(The Book of Masaaqah – 9)

Narrated Jabir b. ‘Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported, I heard Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) saying: Never does a Muslim plant, or cultivate, but has reward for him for what the beasts eat, or the birds eat or anything else eats out of that.

Sahih Muslim(The Book of Virtue, Enjoining Good Manners, and Joining of the Ties of Kinship – 172)

Narrated Abdullah reported that Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said, A woman was tormented because of a cat which she had confined until it died and she had to get into Hell. She did not allow it either to eat or drink as it was confined, nor did she free it so that it might eat the vermin of the earth.

An eye opening story…..Wives are worth it!

“SubhanAllah! Does a Muslim eat until he is no longer able to eat?”

Muhammad ibn Wasi said:
“Whoever eats little will understand and make others understand and will be clear and humble. Overeating weighs a person down and keeps him from much of what he wants [to accomplish].”
Al-Hasan Al-Basri:
The test of Aadam (as) was food and it is your test until Qiyamah.”
And, it used to be said:

Whoever takes control of his stomach gets control of all good deeds.”
And:
Wisdom does not reside in a full stomach.”
One day, Al-Hasan (r. a) offered some food to his companion who said: “I have eaten until I am no longer able to eat.” To which Al-Hasan said:

“SubhanAllah! Does a Muslim eat until he is no longer able to eat?”
Allah grants this world to those whom He loves and those He does not love but only grants hunger to those whom he loves.

Sahih Muslim (The Book of Menstruation – 111)

Narrated Urwa reported on the authority of’A’isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), saying this, The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said. Perform ablution (after eating) anything touched by fire.
