Sahih Muslim(The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer – 164)


Narrated Abu Huraira reported, The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: When any one of you completes the last tashahhud. he should seek refuge with Allah from four (trials). I.e. from the torment of Hell, from the torment of grave, from the trial of life and death, and from the mischief of Masih at-Dajjal (Antichrist). This hadith has been narrated by al-Auza’i with the same chain of transmitters but with these words:” When any one of you completes the tashahhud” and he made no mention of the words” the last”.

Riyad us Saliheen(The Book of Miscellany – 127)


Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “I saw a man going about in Jannah (and enjoying himself) as a reward for cutting from the middle of the road, a tree which was causing inconvenience to the Muslims”.[Muslim].Another narration says: “A man who passed by a branch of a tree leaning over a road and decided to remove it, saying to himself, ‘By Allah! I will remove from the way of Muslims so that it would not harm them.’ On account of this he was admitted to Jannah”.According to the narration in Al-Bukhari and Muslim: Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “While a man was walking, he saw a thorny branch on the road, so he removed it and Allah appreciated his action and forgave him”.

Narrated Abdullah binUmar, Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said, “When anyone of you dies, he will be shown his destination both in the morning and in the evening, and if he belongs to the people of Paradise, he will be shown his place in Paradise, and if he is from the people of Hell, he will be shown his place in Hell.”

Narrated Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) as saying, Two are the types amongst the denizens of Hell, the one possessing whips like the tail of an ox and they flog people with their help. (The second one) the women who would be naked in spite of their being dressed, who are seduced (to wrong paths) and seduce others with their hair high like humps. These women would not get into Paradise and they would not perceive the odour of Paradise, although its frag- rance can be perceived from such and such distance (from great distance).

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “There are three (types of) people to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, nor look at them, and they will have a painful punishment. These are: An aged man who commits Zina (illicit sexual act), a ruler who lies, and a proud poor person.”[Muslim].

Abu Dawood(Drinks (Kitab Al-Ashribah) – 12)


Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas, The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: Every intoxicant is khamr (wine) and every intoxicant is forbidden. If anyone drinks wine, Allah will not accept prayer from him for forty days, but if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he repeats it a fourth time, it is binding on Allah that He will give him tinat al-khabal to drink. He was asked: What is tinat al-khabal, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of Hell. If anyone serves it to a minor who does not distinguish between the lawful and the unlawful, it is binding on Allah that He will give him to drink the discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of Hell.

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Buraidah that his father said “A woman came to-the Prophet (pbuh) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (), I gave my mother a slave girl of mine, and she has died.’ The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: ‘Allah (SWT) has rewarded you, and returned to you your inheritance (without your seeking that.’ ” (Sahih)
